Churchdown School, Saturdays 9.30am - 12.30pm (Kindermusik: 9.30 - 10.30am)*
Brookfield Music Centre was Gloucestershire Music's pilot music centre. Since opening in 1978, thousands of children have been given their first experience of orchestral playing with us. They’ve often progressed to playing in County orchestras and bands, the National Children's' Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra and into professions in music and teaching. Many now teach your children at school. The original aim of the Centre remains: Music for all abilities as a fun activity producing the highest standards possible.
During the three hours when the Centre is open, students can ‘pick & mix’ from a wide range of activities during that time, or simply attend for one particular session. There is no extra charge for attending more than one activity.
We’re happy for parents to bring their child/children along for two trial sessions before joining. There's no need to make an appointment, just turn up and enquire at the registration desk. Parents are welcome to stay and observe, and all new students are assigned a senior student to help them until they feel at home. Please check first that the Centre is open by checking out the date on the Rehearsal and concert page.
* Could parents please ensure that children are not dropped off before 9.15am, and are collected by 12.45pm at the latest. Please hand your card in when you arrive – and don’t forget to collect it when you leave! We cannot be responsible for children outside of these times, nor for children whose cards are not at the registration desk. Under 7s must be collected from inside the building.
